- Normative social influence

What is normative social influence?
A
- Seeking approval from strangers
- Following social norms to be accepted
- Desire to be accepted and fear of rejection
- For example, if other people pull out their CV in an interview, you will too

What is informational social influence?
A
- Cognitive process
- Need information to be right
- New person in an ambiguous situation and looking for what is right in a time of crisis
- Looking for who has the better information
- Look for an expert
- For example, copying peoples answer in class to be right
