• thumbs either resting lightly on top of skull along saginttal suture, or slightly above skull in mid air

palms should not be resting on skull

fronto-occiptal hold: head of table

Answer 2

• one hand under patient’s occiput cupping lightly
• occipital angles are on fingertips and thenar or hypothenar eminences
• top hand has middle finger over greater wing

fronto-occipital hold: side of table

Answer 3

top hand has thumb side over brow

temporal hold

• one hand on top of the other, cradling occiput
