Divides rapidly into a ball of cells (blastocyst)
From day 4 to around week 8 in utero the cells of the blastocyst differentiate and organise into diff tissues and organ systems
Many more processes begin to occur

A

Temporary group of cells that arise from the embryonic ectoderm germ layer
Highly migratory and specialised cells capable of predetermined differentiation
