8
Q

What is a nitrogen unfeathering accumulator and what does it do?

A

A nitrogen pressurized tank that holds oil from the propeller governor on the opposite side of the pressurized nitrogen.

It can be used to unfeather a propeller, by pushing oil into the propeller governor, which forces the blades into a low angle of attack, resulting in a windmilling prop.

16
Q

Which direction and how many turns to manually deploy the landing gear?

A

Clockwise, 50 turns.

17
Q

What keeps the landing gear in the up and locked position?

A

Mechanical up-locks

18
Q

What three conditions would cause the gear warning horn?

A
  • Manifold pressure below 12” hg…
  • Full flaps…
  • Weigh on wheels…

…when gear is up

18
Q

What keeps landing gear in the down and locked position?

A

Over center linkage with spring locks.

19
Q

What BTU is the cabin heater on the D95A?

20
Q

How much fuel does the cabin heater burn when continuously operated?

A

1 gal per hour

21
Q

How many fuel pumps are on the D95A?

A

Four
2 engine driven, 2 booster pumps

22
Q

What system on the D95A is hydraulic?

23
Q

What is the voltage of the D95A

24
How many batteries does the D95A have?
Two
25
What is the excess voltage used for on the electrical system alternator?
Battery Charging
26
What are the three flap switch settings on the D95A?
Up, Off, Down
27
What are the possible flap settings on the D95A?
0 to 28 degrees
28
If you lost and engine and need to use fuel from the inop engine side tank, what position would you place the fuel selectors?
* Inop side selector to tank to use (Main or Aux) * Operating side selector to Cross feed
29
What happens when both fuel selectors are set to cross-feed?
Both engines have fuel starvation
30
Does the D95A have a max demonstrated crosswind?
No
31
Why are spins not recommended in a multi-engine aircarft?
Poor spin recover characteristics * Extra weight on wings * Asymmetrical thrust
32
Why are flaps not recommened for takeoff in the D95A?
Airplane would become airborne under VMC, resulting in a loss of control if an engine fails.
33
What is the PSI of the propeller nitrogen unfeathering accumulator?
135 psi +/- 5psi
