It is a rate benchmark for incidental works carried out where no rate has been agreed under the contract.
When are CECA rates used in the NEC3?
To assess Equipment in payment applications and compensation events specifically when it is not listed in Contract Data but is:
- Owned by the Contractor
- Purchased under HP or lease or
- Hired from a parent company or a company with the same parent company
the rate is usually adjusted by a percentage stated in Contract Data Part Two
How are the CECA Schedules set out?
It lists the type of Equipment and provides a rate (usually per hour) for each size and capacity of the Equipment

My Employer operates a pricing database called IPES that is continually updated utilising costs from current projects. The process is referred to as cost capture and Contractors are obliged to support the process by providing cost information as set out in our Framework Agreements.

Project data is stored on CEMAR and internal documents are stored on SharePoint sites which have stewards to grant access.
