Dealers should always be paying attention to what is happening on and around their table. Always walking their game and keeping a close eye on their bankroll
Walking your game
I.e “Shoulders to your rack”. Dealers need to step and turn their bodies as they deal in a way that they are always able to see the rack layout.

Burning a card
Putting a card into the discard rack.
Burned card at the start of a new shoe is NEVER exposed
Cut card
2 plastic cards. One is used to help the bottoms card from being exposed. The other is used to let the dealer know when to shuffle
Shuffle
When it’s time for a new shoe of cards
•some games have an auto-shuffler, while others require a hand shuffle.
IT IS AN ALERT CALL IF SHUFFLE, BY HAND OR WITH SHUFFLER
Rolling
After and hand shuffle, turning the entire deck in it’s side preparing to be cut. THIS IS AN ALERT CALL
Dealer’s Cut
When the dealer is cutting the deck. THIS IS AN ALERT CALL
Coloring up
When a player would like to take their small denomination cheques and convert them into larger denomination cheques.
Heeling off
After proving a payout in front of the rack and placed the payout offset on the bottom cheque next to their broken-down bet
Busting
If a player OR dealer goes over a hard 21
A soft hand
Hand containing an Ace that can be counted as a 1 or 11
I.E Ace+6= 7 or 17
Players cannot bust when hitting on a soft hand
Dealers must hit a soft 17
A hard hand
A hand without an Ace or the Ace is only valued as 1.
I.E Ace, 3, King, 6= 20
Doubling down
Players making an additional bet, placed on the LEFT side of original bet, on the condition they will only get ONE MORE CARD.
Insurance
A way for players to protect their bet from a potential dealer Blackjack.
• Offered when dealers up card is an Ace
Splitting
When a player’s original cards are the same value, they can choose to creat a second hand.
Alert Call
Informing your supervisor of what you’re doing, call it out loudly, but keep going
Approval Call
Informing your supervisor of what you’re doing, but you MUST WAIT for their okay before continuing
