What are the dangers of lead and where can it be found?

Lead is neurotoxic when inhaled or ingested. It is hazardous when undertaking maintenance as lead dust can be inhaled. When preparing paintwork, lead surveys are a requirement for pre-construction information.
It’s typically found in pipework (contaminating water supplies), paints (banned in 1992) and brass fittings.
