What is density?
Density- An objects mass per unit of volume
What does density tell us?
An objects density tells us how tightly packed the molecules inside are
If an objects density shows the molecules are more tightly packed, is the object more or less dense?
It is MORE dense
What is density usually expressed in?
Grams/milliliters or grams/cubic centimeters
What is waters density?
1 g/ml
How do you find density?
Density= M/V
M= Mass
V=Volume
So Mass divided by Volume equals Density
If an object is 2 g/ml will it float in water?
No anything more than 1 g/ml will sink but anything less will float
