Treatment of topical fungal infections, commonly caused by candidiasis (yeast) or dermatophytes (tinea or ringworm infections).

• Apply with gloves or finger cot.
• May be difficult to eradicate, requiring treatment ranging from several weeks up to one year.
• Common adverse effects include local irritation, pruritus, burning and scaling.

   Used for Treatment of bacterial skin infections including cellulitis, impetigo and folliculitis.
2. Silver Sulfadiazine (Silvadene)
   Used for Treatment of skin infections associated with burns.

• Apply with gloves or finger cot.
• May cover affected area with gauze dressing if desired.
• Local adverse effects include: burning, stinging, erythema, rash, pruritus, tenderness and swelling.
• Silvadene contraindicated in patients allergic to sulfonamide drugs.
