• By undertaking the exercise objectively an accurate view on viability can be determined.
• Allows project stakeholders to make informed decisions.

• Programme and procurement consideration

What is a project brief?

• Formally define the clients requirements and objectives in enough detail to facilitate design and specification.
• Provides clarity and a foundation for the successful delivery of a project.

Who prepares the project brief?

• Typically it is client team who will produce a project brief.
• Client team will then review this information and raise and queries or questions.
• E.g. if there is no site investigations - these can be commissioned and then the results inputted into the project brief.

Can you explain what room data sheets are?

Room data sheets provide a detailed description of the final design of a room. This includes:

• FFE
• Finishes
• Acoustic requirements
• Mechanical and electrical requirements

Used to confirm client requirements, form part of ER’s.

Employers requirements:

Usually used in D&B projects to outline spec for the building and scope of services. CPs are produced in response to the ER’s.
