What are some common drugs?
Hydralazine, Nitroprusside
What will it cause on the heart?
Dilation of arteriole (↓ peripheral resistance, ↓ BP, ↑ HR, ↑ contractility of heart)
Common S/E?
Tachycardia, H/A, Palpitations
Usual dose/route?
IV, IM, or PO
What to watch out for?
Severe tachycardia, SLE-like syndrome (facial rash), crackles in lung, rebound hypertension
