A
  • trying to tell you something in their own way that they are disabled
  • signs they are struggling with their surrounding environment - noise, flashing lights, etc
  • responding to you differently than you expected, or maybe they’re not responding at all (this could be in their body language and/or based on what they say)
  • struggling to comply with your demands
  • asking you to call another person - whether it be a family member, care or support person
  • refusing to cooperate
  • appearing distressed or confused
