What does Helicase do?
It unwinds the DNA molecule
What does DNA polymerase do?
Creates the new strand for the 5’ to 3’ (carbons on the carbohydrate) direction.
Creates the new strand of the 3’ to 5’ direction in small sections
What does DNA ligase do?
Joins the 3’ to 5’ direction together again
What are the three enzymes used in DNA replication?
DNA Polymerase
DNA ligase
Helicase
