What are biotic factors and abiotic factors?
Biotic factors are living things within an ecosystem; such as plants, animals, and bacteria, while abiotic are non-living components; such as water, soil and atmosphere.
Ecology
How do abiotic factors change the biotic factors in the biome?
Give our example, name the factors and say how they effect one another
Biotic factors adapt to the abiotic factors in an ecosystem, and sometimes the other way around. An example of this is the temperate forest. Some abiotic factors are the temperature between 4 and 12 degrees, the rainfall being 140cm every year and sunlight having 6hrs a day of sunlight. These main abiotic factors affect the biotic factors in the ecosystem. For example, the plants get a good amount of sunlight making them grow extremely big (one of the temperate rainforests’ main attributes) making the biome home to thousands of different birds like the Superb Parrot, the Australian Masked Owl, and the Flame Robin because of the mass amount of trees it has a mass amount of room for nests and burrows. Another example is the cold climate, most animals such as the black bear and the long-nosed potoroo both have very thick coats.
