What is a Cluster?
Packs instances close together in Availibility Zone.
- Allows workloads to have load latency network performance.
- Typically for HPC applications.
What is a Partition?
Spreads instances across logical partitions so that groups of instances in one partition do not share underlying hardware w/ groups of instances in another.
- Typically used by large distributed & replicated workloads.
- Ex: Hadoop, Cassandra, & Kafka.
What is a Spread Placement Group?
Each instance is placed on distinct underlying hardware.
* Instances will not share same physical server, rack, or power source.
