Do administrators have to hold a valid license?
Yes! It shall be unlawful for any person to act or serve in the capacity of a LTC Administrator unless the person is the holder of a license in accordance with the provisions of this act. A person will be found guilty of a misdemeanor.
Tier 1 Administrator
Person who is licensed by this state to perform the duties of an administrator serving in a skilled facility, nursing facility or an intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities with 18 or greater beds (ICF)
Tier 2 LTC Administrator
Person who is licensed or certified by the state to perform duties of an Administrator serving in an AL, RCF, Adult Day Care center or an (ICF) Intermediate Care facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities with 16 or fewer.
Ice in a Residential Care facility?
Used as a cooling medium or for use as food and shall be made from drinking water
Leftovers potentially hazardous?
Must be used within 24 hours.
Leftovers non-potentially hazardous?
Must be used within 48 hours.
How many day supply of whole intact fruit or vegetables should be available?
A 3 day supply should always be available.
Long-term care administrators
must devote how much time to on-the-job supervision?
Administrators must devote at least one- half (1/2) of working time to on-the-job supervision of a long-term care facility.
Temperature for refrigerator in medication room?
Should be 36 - 48 degrees
How much are administrative fines?
Administrative fines shall not exceed $1,000 per violation.
When should each investigation of a complaint received by the department shall be initiated?
Each investigation should be initiated within 90 days from the date of complaint and completed within 12 months of initiation.
Informal Dispute Resolution is meant for
Administrators who has been determined, upon investigation, has violated provisions of this act to participate in an informal dispute resolution. The panel must consist of 6 people/ 3 shall be impartial volunteers who have experience in the same type of LTC facility and 3 shall be persons representing the aging or disabled community.
AOR
Administrator of Record
Administrator licensed by the board who has the authority and responsibility for the total operation of the facility, subject only to the policies adopted by the governing authority.
Licensing year
Shall mean the specific period of time a license/certification issued by the Board is valid. Same meaning as calendar year
