Connected to a gearbox.

The reductions in self noise generated by the ship is essential.
There are two reasons for this:
-Reduce the range at which our ship can be detected
-Reduce own interference with the towed array sonar operation.

2 generators = 65 SRPM = 8-9 knots
3 generators = 80 SRPM = 10-12 knots
4 generators = 90 SRPM = 14 Knots
Electrical propulsion converter
The propulsion converter is normally controlled remotely.
Propulsion motors can be controlled from the local control panels.
Electrical propulsion LCPs
The LCP are situated within the converter regulators.
There is a 3 position selector switch with the positions:
-Remote
-Reversionary 1
-Reversionary 2
