NORDO procedure
A
If the aircraft’s radio fails, the recommended procedure when landing at a controlled airport:
1. Troubleshoot.
- Observe the traffic flow.
- Continue Blind Transmission, Squawk 7700 for 1 min then 7600for 15 mins.
- Enter the pattern, flash landing lights, rock the wings and look for a light gun signal from the tower to get landing clearance.
- Land as soon as possible and safe.
