Q

Autorotation Landing

A
  1. Lower Collective (to maintain NR in normal operating range)
  2. Establish IAS 65 kts
  3. Twist Grip in IDLE position
  4. Maneuver the aircraft into the wind on final approach
  5. At 70 ft FLARE to a nose up attitude
  6. At 20-25 ft and constant attitude increase collective to reduce rate of descent and forward speed
  7. Apply forward cyclic before touchdown for slight nose up attitude <10*
  8. Adjust Pedals to cancel any side slip
  9. Increase collective to cushion touchdown
  10. Control ground run by adjusting cyclic, collective and pedals
  11. Once aircraft stopped > full low collective
  12. Apply rotor brake below 170 RPM

Q

Relighting in Flight

A

According to available height (at least 1000ft to complete relighting) and cause of flame out:

  1. Engine starting selector > OFF position
  2. Fuel Pump > ON
  3. Engine starting selector > ON

The relighting sequence will then run automatically as soon as Ng 17%

  1. After relighting > Fuel pump OFF

Q

Loss of Tailrotor Thrust

A

Hover IGE:
1. Twist grip > IDLE position
2. Increase collective to cushion touchdown

Hover OGE:
Simultaneously,
1. Reduce collective
2. Forward cyclic to gain airspeed
3. Maintain IAS 65 kts or higher
4. Adjust collective to obtain minimum sideslip
5. LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE > carry out autorotative landing on suitable landing area (during descent > twist grip to IDLE position)

In cruise flight:
1. Maintain IAS 65 kts or higher
2. Adjust collective to obtain minimum sideslip
3. LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE > carry out autorotative landing on suitable landing area (during descent > twist grip to IDLE position)

Q

VEMD Screen Failures

A

Failure of one screen:

  1. Failed screen > OFF
  2. Read all available information on the other screen
  3. Information available using SCROLL button or button on collective lever

If top screen fails, torque and delta Ng off line. Comply with limitations.

Failure of both screens:

To avoid any power overlimit the max. authorized power will be power needed for level flight at 100 kts (-2 kts/1000 ft)

Q

Flight Control Hardover or Servojam

A

In IGE Hover, takeoff, final:

  1. LAND IMMEDIATELY
    -after landing-
  2. Hydraulic cut off switch (collective) > OFF
  3. Shut down

In flight:

  1. Set IAS to 40-60 kts
  2. Hydraulic cut off switch (collective) > OFF
  3. LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

Q

Abnormal Nf governing

A
  • Abnormal low NR and Nf (Parameters aligned)
    > FADEC governs Nf to a value that is significantly lower than usual.
    > Caused by an erroneous collective anticipatory signal
    > NR/Nf may decrease to 360 rpm before failure is detected by FADEC
    > GOV light comes on
  1. Check engine parameters
  2. Check NR/Nf
  3. LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE
