Encephalitis has an infective cause with a prodrome.

Hypoglycaemia, hepatic, DKA, drugs, hypoxic brain injury, uraemia, SLE, Wernicke’s.
What are the common causes of encephalitis?
Usually viral:
HSV 1/2, CMV, CMV, EBV, HIV, MMR, ticks.
