EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND ANALYSIS
In all emergency procedures, the crew should consider the following actions as part of the checklist: 1. Shoulder harness - locked 2. Distress signal - transmit 3. IFF Emergency - select 4. Pre-landing checks - complete (if time permits)
SINGLE ENGINE FAILURE
Low Altitude, Low Airspeed and Cruise and During Takeoff

3. External stores………………………………………….Jettison.
(if necessary)
4. ECP Training Mode…………………..Confirm deselected.
If altitude, gross mass and airspeed combination does not permit continued flight:
5. Land as soon as possible.
If altitude, gross mass and airspeed combination will permit continued flight:
6. EMER ENG SHUTDOWN…………………………..Perform.
7. ECS, MODE …………………………………………………..VEN.
If demisting is required:
8. ECS, FCD……………………………………………………. Select.
9. ECS, MODE …………………………………………….. As req’d.
10. Land as soon as practicable.

11. ECS, MODE ……………………………………… As req’d.
12. Land as soon as practicable.
SINGLE ENGINE FAILURE
Hovering IGE
If H < 15 ft:
1. Collective position - maintain
2. Landing attitude - select
3. Collective - increase
If H > 15 ft:
4. Collective - reduce (minimise Nr loss)
5. Landing attitude - select
6. Collective - increase
INCREASING Nr
CAUTION
1. Collective - adjust (maintain Nr in limits)
2. Airspeed - 75 KIAS
3. External stores - jettison(if necessary)
4. MFD A/C ENG - select
5. Engine indication - confirm
6. ECP MAN (high Nf engine) - select
7. ECPMET - adjust (maintain Nr and engine parameters in normal range)
8. Land as soon as practicable
If unable to contain Nr and engine parameters in normal range:
9. EMER ENG SHUTDOWN - perform
10. ECS, MODE - VEN If demisting is required:
11. ECS,FCD - select
12. ECS, MODE - as required
13. Land as soon as practicable
COMPRESSOR STALL
1. Collective - reduce
2. Airspeed - adjust for OEI
If abnormal condition persists:
If T4.5 has decreased and there is no further evidence of a stall:
If T4.5 continues to rise to the limits and Ng speed decreases below normal slow speed, or any other malfunction is indicated:
If demisting is required:
ENGINE 1 (OR 2) LOW OIL PRESSURE
1. Airspeed ……………………………………… Adjust for OEI. 2. MFD A/C ENG …………………………………………… Select. If illumination immediately follows negative G manoeuvres: 3. Level flight ………………………………………………Establish. 4. OIL.P1/2 warning………………Extinguished within 1 min.
If engine oil pressure low:
If eng oil pressure normal:
ENGINE 1 (OR 2) AT SLOW (IDLE)
1. Collective ……………………………………………… Adjust.
(maintain NR in limits)
2. Airspeed…………………………………………………75 KIAS.
3. External stores……………………………………….Jettison.
(if necessary)
4. SLOW pushbutton (affected engine) …………… Flight.
5. Flight …………………………………………………. Continue.
POWER LOSS ON ENGINE 1 (OR 2) OR RUNAWAY UP ON ENGINE 1 (OR 2)
WARNING
1. Collective …………………………………………………..Adjust.
(maintain NR in limits)
2. Airspeed …………………………………………………..75 KIAS.
3. External stores………………………………………… Jettison.
(if necessary)
4. MFD A/C ENG ………………………………………….. Select.
5. Engine Indications………………………….. Confirm failure.
6. OEI power ………………………… INT set (if appropriate).
If NR normal or low:
7. Appropriate Single Engine Failure Procedure………………..Perform.
If NR high:
8. Increasing NR Procedure…………………. Perform.
ENGINE 1 (OR 2) AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN
CAUTION
1. Airspeed……………………………………..Adjust for OEI.
2. External stores……………………………………..Jettison.
(if necessary)

If demisting is required:
6. ECS, FCD……………………………………………………. Select.
7. ECS, MODE …………………………………………. As req’d.
8. Land as soon as practicable.
DUAL ENGINE FAILURE IN FLIGHT
1. Collective …………………………………………………..Adjust. (maintain between 315 and 340 NR)
2. Airspeed ………………………………………………..70 KIAS.
3. External stores…………………………………….. Jettison.(if necessary)
4. Park Brake………………………………………………Released.
5. Tail Wheel………………………………………………….Locked.If air restart is possible:
6. AIR RESTART………………………………………….. Perform.
If air restart is not possible:
7. Land as soon as possible.
(Commence flare at 100 ft. As aircraft nears the ground increase collective to cushion touchdown. Touchdown tail wheel first.)
AIR RESTART
CAUTION
To prevent temperature limits of remaining
engine from being exceeded, switch off
heating system and set power to a value not
exceeding MCP rating before actuating starter.
It is unlikely that an attempted air restart will be
successful subsequent to a major engine malfunction
without a successful auto relight:
When the NG is < 8% for the affected engine:
1. EEP……………………………..STOP then NORMAL.
(To reset the relevant GOV and authorise
restart)
2. FCP, PUMP…………………………………………AUTO.
3. ECP, START button …………………………. START.
