ABORT START
Indications:
* Rapid and abnormal rise in PTIT
* May observe flames and black smoke coming from the engine tail
cone
Immediate Actions:
1. ENG COND LEVER - STOP
2. ENG START SW - MOTOR (if high PTIT is
indicated)
RESIDUAL FIRE DURING SHUTDOWN. *
Normally caused by residual fuel igniting in the combustion chamber.
Immediate Actions:
1. EMER ENG SHUTDOWN
2. ENG START SW (affected engine) — MOTOR (if high PTIT is
indicated)
Considerations:
* If high PTIT was indicated, the engine must be motored to decrease PTIT below
260°C.
APU FIRE
Indications:
* May observe flames or a fire other than normal combustion
occurring at the APU.
Immediate Actions:
APU SW — OFF
Engine Compartment, Fuselage or Electrical Fire – Ground
Indications:
* Illumination of FIRE 1 PULL or FIRE 2 PULL handle
* Visible flames/smoke coming from engine compartment or
fuselage
Immediate Actions:
1. EMER ENG SHUTDOWN
2. APU SW — OFF
3. BATT SW — OFF
Engine or Fuselage Fire – Flight.
Indications:
* Illumination of or handle
* Visible flames/smoke coming from engine compartment or fuselage
Immediate Actions:
F 1. ENG FIRE — CONFIRM
2. ENG EMER SHUTDOWN (affected engine) — when conditions permit.
Urgency to Land:
LAND AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Subsequent Actions:
* Close cockpit windows, air control handles, and cockpit knobs
* Execute SMOKE AND FUME ELIMINATION — as required
After Landing:
EMER ENG SHUTDOWN
Electrical Fire – Flight
Indications:
* Smell of burning rubber
* Flames or smoke from electrical equipment
Actions:
If a landing as soon as possible cannot be made:
1. A/S — below 100 KCAS or VNE whichever is slower
2. GEN 1 and GEN 2 switches — OFF
3. Close cockpit windows, air control handles, and cockpit knobs
4. Execute SMOKE AND FUME ELIMINATION — as required
After landing:
5. EMER ENG SHUTDOWN
6. BATT switch — OFF

1. A/S — ABOVE 60 KCAS

-Do not manually select reversionary mode on affected engine as un-commanded power changes may occur.
