Ethics
By definition ethics refers to the study of what is morally right and wrong, good and bad. The logical search for the best ethical principles to live by.
Values
A person’s principles or standards of behavior; one’s judgment of what’s important in life.
Examples: honesty, fairness, compassion, loyalty
Utilitarian Approach
Decision produces the most good and does the least harm.
The Rights Approach
Decision best respects the rights of all at stake. Humans have dignity and should choose freely what they do with their lives.
The Fairness and Justice Approach
Decision treats people equally, if not equally at least fairly.
The Common Good Approach
Decision best serves the community as a whole, not just some members.
The Virtue Approach
Decision leads me to act as the sort of person I want to be. Honesty, courage, compassion, generosity, and fidelity are examples of ideals

Informed consent
A person who agrees to participate in a study
Triage
the process of sorting people for medical treatment based on the severity of their condition to ensure the most critical patients receive immediate care, especially in emergency situations with limited resources
DNR
a medical order written by a health care provider. It instructs providers not to do CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) if a patient’s breathing stops or if the patient’s heart stops beating.

any person, group, or organization that has a vested interest in a project or business and can either influence or be affected by its outcome
