Synecdoche
A part of something used to refer to the whole. Ex- “50 head of cattle” referring to 50 complete animals.
Anaphora
The REPETITION of the last word of one clause at the beginning of the following clause.
Cliche
A phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought.
Exposition
A comprehensive description and explanation of an idea or theory.
Parable
A simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson, as told by Jesus in the Gospels.
Satire
The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.
