1. suction (orally and subglotically via evac tube)
2. Hyperoxygenation Pt. and have other airflow devices ready.
3. Cuff leak test (by disconnecting Pt from vent)
4. If Cuff leak test is good and Pt is stable, remove securing device
5. Pull tube out at the end of inspiration
6. Suction mouth or ask Pt to cough
7. oxygenate
8. perform resp. assessment (auscultate)
