Filmed 4 month old infants in face to face interaction with primary caregiver mothers, primary caregiver fathers and secondary caregiver fathers
Finding
Primary caregiver fathers like mothers spent more time smiling and holding infants than the secondary caregiver father.
Conclusion
Fathers can be more nurturing attachment figures and take on a maternal role. Level of responsiveness is important in attachment
