This set entered on 7-26-14. 5.25.14.3 1. p. 391. RELATIONSHIPS WITH MORE THAN ONE CRITERION. You can assign more than ONE RULE to a RELATIONSHIP, meaning:
you already added a RELATIONSHIP between CUSTOMERS and PEOPLE that matches based on STATE, but you can make it so that ONLY people who live in the SAME CITY AND STATE show up.
a. Select a RELATIONSHIP LINE in the RELATIONSHIP GRAPH b. Click the EDIT RELATIONSHIP button c. In the CUSTOMER TO field list, choose CITY d. In the OTHER LEAD TO’s Field List, choose CITY (Note: OTHER LEAD TO is a table in the books example) e. Click the ADD button f. Click OK
It means that the DATA in BOTH FIELDS MUST MATCH EXACTLY.
The RELATIONSHIP LINE, as it approaches a TO, forks (or divides), creating two lines, each going to a different field.
The box in the middle of the dialog box will show TWO RELATIONSHIPS.
MULTI-KEY RELATIONSHIP, because it USES TWO KEY FIELDS.
In order for TWO records to relate, THEY MUST MEET BOTH CRITERIA: a person MUST be in the SAME CITY AND THE SAME STATE in order for the data to show up in the PORTAL.
