• Small decline in deference (704,803 men died in WW! which shook confidence in the upper class generals)
• Death toll disproportionately affected the upper class
• ROPA and “Land fit for heroes” showed a commitment to equality (Even during depression prices fell faster than wages)

• Satire boom where many people began to joke around the ruling classes (Shows like Beyond the Fringe)
• Sex Scandals such as the profumo scandal showed that the ruling classes were not these holier than thou beings but normal people
