What methods can be used to remove an element from the fire triangle?

A
  1. Starvation: Remove fuel source
  2. Boundary cooling: Stop temp rising, keep steel wet
  3. smothering: Reduce oxygen below 9%
  4. Cooling: Saturate with water to lower fuel temp below ignition temp
  5. Boundary starvation: Remove fuel from the surroundings
  6. Flame inhibition: Breaks the chain reaction between elements

  2. Demand valve reset before opening cylinder
  3. Ensure cylinder is at minimum 80% capacity
  4. Don mask - Inhale
  5. Hold breath - Listen for audible leaks
  6. Reset demand valve button - remove mask
  7. Close clylinder - check for 10 bar drop in 1 minute
  8. Vent air from the system listen for low pressure warning whistle
  9. Complete the test records
