• Ensure she feels safe to go home/ensure the safety of her and her children
• Validate her concerns
• Discuss reporting to police, as intimate partner violence is a crime
• Explain that if I feel her children are at risk, then I’m obligated to report to police, anyone you can stay with
• Provide DV Support Line/Contact
• Discuss harm to baby
• Give practical ways she can leave if needed
  ○ Have bag packed, ready to go
  ○ Involve maternal and child health care nurse
  ○ Have friend she can call to collect her if needed
• Explore her views about staying in relationship
