rewards won under Germanicus
An arch, temple and shrine dedicated, celebrating the recapture of The Eagles lost with Varus under the leadership of Germanicus
(Tacitus clearly supports this)
What did Germanicus get from his conquering
his war was regarded as
his triumph
what was foreboding about his triumph
The emperor’s generosity in the name of Germanicus
What did Tiberius offer to do for Germanicus, people’s rejection
Tiberius’ support for Germanicus’ son
{Germanicus is now dead}
Tiberius commended to the senate Germanicus’ son Nero Caesar. Proposed he be able to stand for the quaestorship 5 years before the legal age (but exemption from service on the board of 20) as he and his brother had had the same on Augustus’ request
Nero Caesar also admitted to the Pontificial order, free distribution to the public, married Drusus’ daughter. Joy (son of Germanicus)
Though supporting Nero Caesar he still supported Drusus.
What happened to Tiberius
Fourth consulship of Tiberius and second of Drusus, partnership of father and son (Germanicus had shared the same position with Tiberius. But they had not been such close relatives, and the association had brought the emperor no pleasure)
Withdrew to Campania, maybe wanting to leave Drusus as sole consul
