OUTPATIENT TREATMENT FOR UNCOMPLICATED GONORRHEA INFECTION
•One of the following: Ceftriaxone, 125 mg IM in a single dose •AND to prevent drug resistance and treat potential infection with chlamydia: Azithromycin, 1 g PO in a single dose or Doxycycline, 100 mg PO bid × 7 days
There is currently only one CDC recommended drug, …….., to treat gonorrhea although less-effective alternatives are available
