-Harnesses retired by MES (mechanical engineering services) Thornbury - check the webbing at the attachment points, adjustment buckles and the safety stitching. Look for cuts, loose threads, wear and damage
- verify that the double-back and leg loop buckles function properly
-check chest harness karabiner frame, gate, hinge and locking screw are free of any cracks, deformation, corrosion or wear due to heat or contact with chemicals - verify the gate opens and closes automatically and completely. check locking sleeve locks and unlocks
-if fails fill in missing/damaged paperwork and return to MES

when putting on harness make sure to
. no mobile phones/wallets between straps and leg
- no twisting, secure slack
- adjust leg loop to waist belt slack
- ensure coat collar is clear of harness
cleaning and maintenance
-if soiled contact MES (thornbury)
- MUST be cleaned by specialist soap and qualified personnel
- removed and inspected annually by MES
Storage
Ensure harness dry and clean
neatly fold harness and in storage bag
do not store with heavy items and in direct sunlight
