Oestrogen stimulates the growth of the uterus lining and inhibits the release of FSH and stimulates the release of LH

What does progesterone do?

Answer 3

Inhibits the release of FSH and LH and maintains the uterus lining.

LH triggers the release of the egg from the follicle (ovulation)
