What do humanists believe?

The scientific method to find out about truths about our universe is correct. They believe morals (right and wrong) can come from humans, with no need for religious morality… and they believe in respecting and valuing all humans. They believe humans are able to solve our problems with our own minds and that we should think for ourselves.

What don’t humanists believe?

Answer 2

They don’t believe in God or anything spiritual or supernatural, e.g. unicorns, ghosts or astrology.They don’t believe in life after death, they say humans can live happy, fulfilling lives here on Earth with no need to believe in an afterlife.

What are the three main reasons humanists say there isn’t a god?

Answer 3

1. Science has better empirical evidence for the existence of the universe than religion
2. If God were all powerful he’d be able to stop evil, suffering and pain and if God were loving, he’d want to. But there is suffering so perhaps God doesn’t exist
3. Freud said that God is simply a psychological invention and that this is true because… When we grow up, we are told what is acceptable by our parents, however, we resent this subconsciously meaning we have the desire to kill our father and gain complete control of our mother. Though we know we can’t for we also fear him, so we choose to imagine a big sky father called God, who makes rules, but we cannot kill.
