What is hydrogen bonding?
Hydrogen bonding is when the negative O atom of one water molecule is attracted to the positive H atom of another water molecule, producing strong electrostatic forces of attraction between the water molecules
When does hydrogen bonding occur?
When an H atom is attracted to either a(n) F, O or N atom or another molecule
Is hydrogen bonding weak or strong?
Very strong
Why is the boiling point for water so high?
For water to boil, the strong hydrogen bonds need to break. This requires a lot of heat energy, which is why the boiling point of water is so high (100°C) for such a tiny molecule
