The Shoreline Management Plan (SMP). There is one for every littoral cell in England/Wales (11 of them).

What are the different SMP policies?

Answer 3

-Hold the line - maintain existing and building of new defences.
-Advance the line - build new defences closer to the sea.
-Managed realignment/retreat - natural processes allowed to operate without interference but monitored.
-No active intervention -no building/fixing of defences.
