Q

When should infants born at < 2000 grams to mothers who are HepB sAg-negative receive the Hepatitis B vaccine?

A

Prior to hospital discharge or at 1 month of age, whichever comes first

  • Should wait due to concerns that underweight, premature infants may not mount a sufficient immune response
  • If mother is HepB sAg-positive baby should receive Hep B vaccine and HepB immunoglobulin ideally within first 12 hours of life; first HepB dose does not count toward primary 3-dose series

4-6 years

25
What is the time frame for febrile seizure after first dose of MMRV vaccination (if it is going to occur)?
1-2 weeks - slightly increased risk of febrile seizure with first dose of MMRV is NOT seen with the second dose
26
Typical length of MenACWY series:
2 doses
27
At what age is MenACWY typically administered?
11-12 years 16 years
28
When MenB is administered, at what ages is it typically given?

32
What is PCV?
Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine - stronger immunity generated compared to PPSV
33
What is PPSV?

Children < 8 months of age born during or entering their first RSV season OR children entering their second RSV season with risk factors (8-19 months of age) - Eligible if mother did not receive maternal RSV vaccine, maternal RSV vaccination status unknown, or if maternal RSV vaccination was given < 14 days prior to delivery
37
When is nirsevimab or clesrovimab indicated for a child entering their second RSV season? (4 categories)
If they fall into a high risk category: - Chronic lung disease of prematurity requiring medical support (chronic corticosteroid therapy, diuretic therapy, or supplemental oxygen) at any time during the 6-month period before the start of the second RSV season - Severe immunocompromise - Cystic fibrosis with either manifestations of severe lung disease (previous hospitalization for pulmonary exacerbation in the first year of life or abnormalities on chest imaging that persist when stable) or weight-for-length that is less than the 10th percentile - American Indian or Alaska Native children
