Indications-primary & secondary immune deficiency

-people w/ IgA deficiency (low IgA d/t body destroying it, if you give IgA to these pts their body will have an anaphylactic rxn b/c body recognizes IgA as non-self)
Hyperimmune globulin
Indications: short lived immunity against a specific organism such as Hep B, Rabies, Tetanus, Varicella Zoster
*gives immediate passive immunity
CI:
-not administered to those w/ IgA deficiencies
SE:
-decreased efficacy of live vaccines
Hepatitis B Immune Globulin
Indications:
-past exposure, prophylaxis to Hep B

-allergy to Human Immune Globulin
SE -allergic rxn =back pain -discomfort -HA -muscle pain -nausea -pain/bleeding at injection site
