FREEZE
Freeze the scene so that it remains in the condition that it was found
CONTROL
Control people at the scene and those attempting to leave or arrive.
PRESERVE
Any evidence at the scene that may be destroyed or start to decay in some way.

B - Brief authorised people
E - Explore and report any suspicious activity
N - No contaminating
T - Think of the pets
INFORMATION TO CONSIDER EN-ROUTE TO THE SCENE
OBTAIN:
- Description of suspect
- Description of suspects car
- Suspects direction of travel
- Descriptions of weapson
WATCH:
- Any suspicious vehicles that come to and from the scene (Record plate)
PLAN:
- Where to park vehicle in relation to the scene (SPF) - Safe Forward Point.
- Plan initial action upon arrival

WHAT IS THE RELEVANT INFO OBTAINED FROM INFORMANT?
WHAT INFO SHOULD BE GIVEN IN A SITREP (SITUATION REPORT)?
Keep comms informed of any changes at the scene and any action required:
- Include information that could help locate the offender
- Advise what assistance is needed
- use your radio or mobile in private
- Provide location of the SFP to staff who are on their way to scene.
WHAT INFO IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO TAKING UP SCENE GUARD?
You must ask the O/C of the scene:
- Who is authorised to enter the scene?
- Where are the scene boundaries?
- Where is the designated point of entry?
- What route must authorised personnel take through the scene?
- Are there any suspects? If so, obtain photo/description.
