Q
how are london forces produced?
A
movement of electrons causes instantaneous dipole.
instantaneous dipole induces a dipole in a neighbouring molecule
induced dipole induces further dipoles in other molecules, meaning they are attracted to each other.
more electrons = larger induced dipole = stronger force = higher b.p
