Why do you want to join Wizz Air?

A
  • Exciting time to join Wizz — Wizz is one of the few airlines still expanding, strong safety record, +270 aircraft on order, opportunity for lots of flying, and fast progression.
  • I want to fly Airbus aircraft — Airbus aircraft appeal to me with their modern technologies, safety systems, flying aircraft that have systems to support the pilots, automation management/understanding automation is a strong skill of mine.
  • Young and modern fleet — I want to fly modern aircraft, I’ve been flying some of the latests and technologically advanced aircraft on the market and want continue that trend is important to
  • Operational variety/routes — Variety of destinations, new countries/airports to fly to, new experiences to develop into a well rounded pilot.
  • Base/Living location fit — (if Luton base) I can move back to Cambridgeshire where I lived for 8 years, where all my friends/strong social network, good work life balance.

A
  • A combination of operational discipline, real world experience and a mindset that aligns with airline operations.
  • My previous role has developed my decision making, situational awareness and ability to manage workload/pressure situations safely and constantly.
  • I have a signifiant amount of instructional experience which has strengthened my communication skills, ability to work effectively with others, and different personality types.
  • I’ve had exposure to developing SOP’s which has given me a strong appreciation for standardisation and the importance of following procedures.
  • Im very comfortable operating modern glass cockpit aircraft and advanced avionics and I’m confident I can transition to the Airbus environment quickly.
  • Overall I can bring a professional, safety focused approach, strong work ethic and a genuine motivation to contribute and develop within Wizz Air.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A
  • I would want be a well established First Officer/Senior First Officer, ideally progressing towards a command opportunity.
  • Main focus would be to become a consistent and safe operator, highly regarded within the company and someone that other crew members enjoy flying with.
  • I would like to see myself supporting in a training role, helping to develop and training new pilots who are in the same position as me now.

How would you explain an ILS to someone who has no aviation knowledge?

A
  • Radio signal that guides aircraft down to the ground even in poor weather.
  • Think of it like following a sloped path towards the ground, keeping the aircraft lined up with the runway and descending at the correct angle.

  • How crew members interact together on the flight deck. CRM enhances teamwork, communication, decision making and situational awareness.
  • CRM teaches how to use all the resource available to operate flights safely.
