Q

Dot and cross diagrams

A

These show the electrons on the outer shell, metals always end up with an empty outer shell while non metals will always end up with a full outer shell.

Q

Ionic compound structures(3)

A

-Ions are arranged in a Lattice of repeating units of positive and negative ions.(These form a crystal)
-High melting/boiling points due to the strong ionic bonds (strong electrostatic forces between them).
-Can conduct electricity in liquid form. This is because the ions are free to move in these states, and they carry charge
