Why do we open it?
Will lose all items on Gen Bus,
The Battery will continue to power the Batt Bus items until it is depleted (will be less than 30mins as it will have been drained whilst powering all Gen & batt bus equipment).
Opened to give us more time (so we don’t have everything fail once the Battery is depleted)
BATT BUS Fail:
Why do we open the bus tie? Consids once it is opened?
To isolate the Gen bus from any battery or batt bus faults.
Once opened, nothing changes, you have already lost the Batt Bus items, however;
Hot Battery bus will still power applicable items for 30mins, after this you will lose these items (main concern = OBOGs/ Pressurization)

- Plan: get visual on RVs, assess time left on Batt;
> If not much left, rqst the visual appch, complete the checks (open BUS TIE - advise ATC you will lose tspdr, reset timer, vis appch using BFI & EICAS)
> if lots of time left, leave bus tie closed & conduct visual appch. (noting your Batt may fully die…)
