Duties
- Supervise deputies doing vulnerability assessments on over 500 county sites
- Liaison and maintain positive working relationships with OES and other county departments.
- Be responsive to security assessment questions.
- Coordinate and deliver training, presentations and drills to county employees either virtual or in person.
- Partner with County Group Security Coordinator to ensure the County Security Initiative Goals are met.
- Function as a contributing member County a Security Initiative Governance Group.
- Will attend trainings and be expected to become a subject matter expert in security assessments as well as evaluate and develop security related training courses.
- On call to staff the DOC, provide relief for SAR, Reserves and EPD sergeants.
- Perform other tasks designated by the EPD LT.

- Keep distance between you and the source
- Create barriers to prevent or slow down a threat from getting to you.
- Turn off the lights.
- Remain out of sight and quiet by hiding behind large objects and silence your phone.
“Defend” tactics during active shooter
Defend because you have the right to protect yourself.
- If you cannot avoid or deny, be prepared to defend yourself
- Be aggressive and committed to your actions.
- Do not fight fairly.

Coordinates the overall county response to disasters. Alerting and notifying appropriate agencies when disaster strikes.
