Max gross weight w/ an External load: 6000lbs
What is the maximum weight for the cargo hook?
2650 lbs
What is Vne with external cargo? What caution is associated with this limit?
100 KIAS or placarded Vne, whichever is less.
*The presence of an external load can affect the handling characteristics of the helicopter. Pilots should be cautious and mindful of the load’s size, weight, and shape.
What are the slope limitations for the Bell 407?
10⁰ side slope and nose up
5⁰ nose down
When should engine anti ice be used?
Temperature below 5⁰C (40⁰F) and visible moisture is present.
How do you conduct a Pedal Stop test prior to engine start on the Bell 407?
Pedals - Centered
Press - Verify PEDAL STOP caution and ENGAGED annunciator illuminated and left pedal travel restricted.
Release - Verify PEDAL STOP caution and ENGAGED annunciator extinguished and both pedals travel unrestricted.

Fuel level in aft fuel cell 100 lbs +/- 10 and below
How do you perform a power assurance check in the Bell 407?
Turn off all sources of bleed air, including ENGINE ANTI-ICING. Establish level flight at an AIRSPEED of 85 to 105 KIAS or Vne, whichever is lower. Check may also be conducted in a hover prior to takeoff, depending on ambient conditions and gross weight. Record Hp, OAT, MGT, and Torque. Cross reference results with Power Assurance Check Chart.

FADEC fail audio activated, FADEC FAIL warning light illuminated, FADEC MANUAL caution light illuminated, AUTO RELIGHT advisory light illuminated, FADEC MODE switch MAN light illuminated.
Why does the Left Fuel Boost / XFR Switch come off prior to shutdown?
Left fuel boost and transfer pumps will continue to operate until either LEFT FUEL BOOST / XFR circuit breaker switch (highlighted with yellow border) or FUEL VALVE switch is positioned to OFF. These pumps operate directly from battery and will not be deactivated when BATT Switch is OFF. Battery power will be depleted if both switches remain on.
When does the CHECK INSTR light come on?
TRQ, MGT, or NG is about to or has detected an exceedance. Flashing LCD trend arc and digital display indicates impending exceedance. Letter E in digital display indicates an exceedance has occurred.
What does a FADEC DEGRADED light (in flight) mean and what are your actions?
FADEC ECU operation is degraded which may result in NR droop, NR lag, or reduced maximum power capability. Remain in AUTO mode. Fly helicopter smoothly and non-aggressively. Land as soon as practical.
What does a FADEC FAULT light mean what are your actions?
PMA and or MGT, NP or NG automatic limiting circuit(s) not functional.
Remain in AUTO mode. Land as soon as practical. Applicable maintenance action required prior to next flight.
