What is LCSD?
What are the four dimensions of LCSD?
economic, social, environmental and institutional
How is LCSD built up?
Outer ring: individual indicators (CO2, water use,…)
Inner ring: index for 1 dimension by aggregating the individual indicators
The indicators used for LCA, LCC & SLCA can be used and implemented
–> software ranks all values for each indicator
The better the performance of the product, the more points it gets
Overall evaluation: arithmetical average of the topic evaluations
What are the benefits of LCSD?
–User-friendly tool & make communication of complex topics easier
–Analysis of numerous sustainability data is possible
–Support community to share sustainable development goals by performance charts
What are the challenges of LCSD?
–Needs careful interpretation –> we apply a weighting factor of 1 and people are often not aware of it
What weighting tool do you like better? the triangle or the dashboard?
Both have their advantages and disadvantages:
In my opinion, it depends a lot on who you want to communicate the results with.
dashoboard is easy to understand –> better for a broad target groups with all sorts of educational background
triangle is more specific, you can see the different weighting factors and how the result changes when changing the weighting
–> better for company decisions
