→ drug dissolved in plasma may associate with plasma protein components : albumin,globulins, glycoprotein, lipoprotein and erythrocyte
*albumin(protein) is most important → create osmotic pressure, transport hormones to site that is needed

-binding is reversible : equilibrium between bound and unbound drug molecules exist
→ only unbound (free) drug molecules can passively diffuse through capillary walls and leave vasculature → exert pharmacological effect, subject to eliminatio
