- Facilitator: Increase women’s community participation in EP/political decision
2a. Race
- Barrier: Racism still a problem for African-American citizens within the states
- Facilitator: Involve marginalized/excluded persons who are excluded from decision making on the basis of race
3a. Income
- Barrier: Lasting repercussion still remain for those affected, especially low income citizens. This leaves them more at risk
- Facilitator: Create a program to finically support low-income people

- Barrier: Insurance companies collecting and following through with plans. People’s insurance covering enough but pan refusing to cover all. Now insurance is heavily increased (4x)
- Facilitators: Finding funding for repair. Housing assistance from FEMA

- Barrier: Affordability of healthy food. Rebuilding of produce stores
- Facilitators: Starting gardens in vacant lots
3a. Health Services
- Barriers: Closing hospital, opening private hospitals
- Facilitators: Transporting services. Easier access. Charity run clinics

- Barrier: Time consuming to rebuild, utilizing volunteer supports

- Barrier: Dealing with insurance companies. People have no income
- Facilitator: Implementing an emergency financial support plan via banks or government
3a. Employment/ Working Conditions
- Barrier: You either don’t work at all and then others who are now working in hazard environments
- Facilitators: Work skills registry. Also improve education program. post emergency education/training
Community response: panic at first, then overall more then just the community worked together

- Facilitators: Opportunity for employment, construction boom, environment (smoke)

- Barrier: FN/fire damages, 2000 infrastructures destroyed
- Facilitators: Soil damage (forest regrowth), support for local businesses/ replanting, environment concern

- People with lower income affected more than those with more income
- Budget cuts earlier in the year forest fire prep, prevention and mitigation as well as wide fire management base operating budget
