Be Genre Sensitivity. “Don’t read Proverbs like Paul.”

• • Narrative is descriptive. Paul is prescriptive.
• • When you read about slavery in the OT or rape of Tamar, it doesn’t mean the Bible is prescribing that behavior, but rather is describing the events that actually happened.

Give the Cara proverb that best relates to the following: “Yes, Stephen’s R-H sermon (Acts 7) shows that R-H sermons are proper. But there are other proper sermon methods in the Bible.”
